We are a growing and well-established Construction company seeking a hands-on Controller to lead our accounting and finance operations. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all financial activities, ensuring compliance, and driving financial efficiency within our construction projects.
Oversee and manage all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
Maintain job cost accounting and ensure accurate tracking of project financials.
Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and subcontractor payments.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and industry-specific financial requirements.
Develop and enforce internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets.
Collaborate with project managers and executives to provide financial insights and risk analysis.
Prepare and present financial reports to leadership, identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Oversee audits, tax filings, and financial compliance with lenders and bonding companies.
Implement and improve construction accounting software (e.g., Sage 300, Viewpoint, Procore).
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
5 years of construction accounting experience, including WIP reporting, job costing, and subcontractor compliance.
Proficiency in construction accounting software such as Sage 300, Viewpoint, or Procore.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and mentor an accounting team.
Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of lien waivers, retainage, bonding, and construction contracts.
